Description of the Event
Mission: Runners attempt to build the best poker hand by drawing cards at five stations dispersed throughout Sunset Park.
Execution: At 0900 on Race Day, given a map of the trail system annotated with stations, runners navigate a course of their choice ensuring that they complete all five stations. After drawing their last card they run back to the registration at the "H" pavilion to turn in their hand for score.
Coordinating Instructions:
1. The first three runners at each station will draw an extra card.
2. After the participant draws a card, the station monitor will write the runner's bib number on the back of the card.
3. We recommend runners have a means to secure their cards (pocket, fanny pack, etc.).
4. At check-in, runners turn in their hands. If any cards are duplicated (for example two three-of-hearts), runners will draw another card to fill out their hands.
5. The first three runners back to check-in, with at least one card from each station, will receive an extra card.
6. Participants may sign up for two or more hands to improve their chances. However, they will receive one card for each bib number. Cards may not be transferred between hands.
7. Runners need not be present when final results are tabulated.
8. All contestants must be back at check-in prior to 1100.
9. Results will be published on this website.
